With 20 years in nonprofit and government leadership, Mission Forward provides coaching and consulting to nonprofit leaders and donors in the following areas:
- Strategic planning facilitation – We will collaborate to develop a road map with thorough steps, timelines and accountability built in to help you achieve your mission. We’ll then work on an action plan to ensure the plan guides all of your actions in the future.
- Developing a compelling case statement for grants and appeals – The case statement is an incredibly powerful tool that can be used for grants and donor appeals. Using decades of successful experience in development of case statements, we’ll work together to create a case statement foundation directors and donors will love.
- Board development and governance – Building a powerhouse board makes everything run more smoothly. We’ll strategize all the areas of board development needed to make your organization operate at a high level and keep everyone informed about the direction you’re going.
- Organizational development coaching – An effective and efficient way to keep your fundraising goals on track. We’ll have two 1-hour calls each month with your key fund development staff to discuss strategy. We will follow up each meeting with detailed notes on next steps to help keep your team moving forward toward your goals.
- Leadership development and evaluation – Staff in leadership positions have the greatest impact on your mission. When you’re working at full capacity, you’re more effective. We’ll work together to identify strengths and challenges to your leadership team, and come up with detailed plans and training to help you support leadership among your team so you can move forward in your leadership journey.
- Capital Campaigns and preparedness studies – Keeping programs running while building the resources your organization needs for the future requires a detailed plan, a motivated team and a lot of internal and external collaboration. We’ll work together on the planning you need to make your dreams a reality!
- Assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization’s work to maximize impact of contributions.
- Planned giving – Your donors love your work and want to see it continue. We’ll design plans to engage them in the discussion about their legacy and encourage them to consider adding your organization to their estate plans.
- Retaining your donors – It is five times harder to get a new donor than it is to get a returned gift from someone who has given to you before. We’ll create plans to engage staff and volunteers in the process of retaining your donors.
- Long term sustainability – We’ll collaborate to build a broad range of funding sources to help increase the sustainability of your programs and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of each fundraising strategy.
- Telling your story effectively – Engaging with the community requires building a connection. Stories that touch the heart and relate to our shared humanity are how we build connection. We will work together to identify and tell compelling, concise stories that your clients and staff will be proud of and your donors and volunteers will love!
- Development assessment – We’ll take a deep dive into systems and identify ways you can maximize the impact of your development department.
- Donor stewardship – Keeping donors informed and engaged is the key to ensuring they continue to support your mission — and support it at higher levels in future years. We’ll develop a plan for active engagement of donors to help them understand the impact they have.
- Creating fundraising event scripts and appeal letters – Writing a strong fundraising appeal is both an art and a science. We’ll collaborate to effectively tell your story and engage with donors about the impact they have by supporting your mission.
